History & Trivia
Yuu Asaka, a Japanese puzzle designer, first gained attention while studying at Akita University. During his third year, he created a jigsaw puzzle for an art assignment, breaking traditional jigsaw assumptions. Ice 9 is probably the most difficult in his range, and the solution is not straightforward. However, it may not be as challenging if you're a seasoned puzzler and have experience with his puzzles. The target time for completion is 3 hours and no solution is included. We're excited to be an official stockiest for this superb puzzle range and hope to expand the options over time, he's currently working on expanding production in Japan. His puzzles challenge users to think outside the box, using unconventional shapes and concepts. His most famous creation, the Jigsaw Puzzle 29, features pieces that all look like corner pieces, adding an unexpected twist. This design earned him an "Honorable Mention" at the 2018 Nob Yoshigahara Puzzle Design Competition. Since then, Asaka has continued creating other innovative puzzles like Wave 5 and Wave 7(Sloyd.fi)(秋田公立美術大å¦).
