History & Trivia
The Lo Shu Square dates as far back as 650 BC and the early 3-by-3 version summed up to 15.
There was once a huge flood in ancient China. The people offered sacrificies to the god of the Luo river, one of the flooding rivers, to calm his anger. A magical turtle emerged from the water with circular dots representing 1 to 9 arranged in a three-by-three grid on its shell. The pattern was so unnatural because all columns, rows and diagonals on the shell added up to the same amount. The 3-by-3 Lo Shu Square is a very commonly used Feng Shui tool by the Chinese.
