History & Trivia
The Stomachion Puzzle, attributed to the ancient Greek mathematician Archimedes, dates back to around 287–212 BC. Discovered in a 10th-century manuscript, it is one of the earliest known geometric dissection puzzles. Archimedes likely used it to explore combinatorics and geometry. The puzzle gained modern interest for its mathematical complexity, offering insight into ancient methods of calculating shape combinations.
